Hope Moagi Morongwa was born in April in 2002. She lives with her parents and three siblings near Tzaneen, South Africa.She went to St George College Nkowankowa. She was in Grade Ten when she submitted some writing. She claims to be a fun-loving person with a sweetheart nature and not judgmental. She would like a career related to medicine. Her first poem was written in 2016 helped by Thabiso Rakgaole. HerEnglish teacher, Sir Ndou, led her to the road of literature and she has embraced it. Her first book is titled Teenage Thoughts of Hope.

Fortunate Ntsako Nhlungwana was born in February 1997 in Tzaneen, South Africa. She took her schooling at Hudson Ntsan’wisi Senior Secondary School. She is an ambitious girl who loves reading. She’s born again. Her friends call her “Ntsako wa Christ” because she loves God with all her heart. She loves working in the “House of the Lord”. She is now a member of the Sabbath Ministries. She believes that a quitter never wins but a winner never quits. The motto on her bedroom wall says “Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal”. Giving up is not her style. She wants to do something that’s worthwhile. She studies medicine because she cares a lot about everyone’s health. She has two books on Kindle: Hidden Truth and A Hypochondriac Girl.

Dipolelo Mohale

Dipolelo Mohale was born in Tzaneen, South Africa in June 1996. She and her brother Ofentse were raised by their mother, Meriam Mokgadi Mohale. Dipolelo graduated from Hudson Senior Secondary School in Tzaneen and is now studying Tourism at Letaba Tvet College. She intends to be a tour guide when she graduates. Dipolelo is a multi-talented artist in that in addition to expressing herself in poems, she enjoys singing. She has recorded two songs, one in 2013 and the other in 2014. She now has five “beats” that she would like to record. Her first poem “Death of my Cousin” was written in 2009 at the age of 13. Her collection of poetry, is simply titled Poems.

Bridget Mamahlola Patji, affectionately known as Nthabiseng by her friends, was born and bred in Tlhabine Ga-Mogoboya, a village in Tzaneen, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The 20-year-old is registered with the University of South Africa, in the third year of her studies. Determined to soar to great heights, Bridget believes she can achieve anything she puts her mind to, including her Bachelor of Laws degree. She is a member of a great church where she serves as part of the intercession team. Her mother is raising both her and her younger sister the only way she knows, with impeccable care and unending generosity. Bridget dotes on literature. Jars of Clay is her first book. For sports, she plays Wing Attack on the netball court.

Jackey Mukhwana

Jackey Mukhwana was born in 1999 in Tzaneen (Dan Village) where he lived with his parents and a younger sister and brother. He was a high school student at Hudson Ntsan'wisi Senior Secondary School in Tzaneen when he got in touch asking for assistance in publishing his rags to riches story titled My Life, My Misery. That was the real start of editing and publishing which is documented on this website. After his book was published, Jackey and three friends produced an Anthology of stories, plays and poems which was sold in a local bookstore and publicized in the Letaba Herald. Jackey has finished a year or two of university, but has had to drop out for financial reasons. He is a talented man with leadership skills and will do well no matter what the world throws at him.

Eustacia Ntsakisi Nhlangweni was born in February 2000. She lived at Dan Village, Rhulani, South Africa with her grandmother. She is the only child of Calfonia Mashudu Mamafha and the first child of Tiyani Sambo. She took her primary education at Banana and Ritavi primary schools and then went to Hudson Ntsan’wisi Senior Secondary school in the science stream. At Banana primary school, a teacher helped her with poetry as she started to express her feelings in poems. She also wrote a story about her life. Her dream has always been to see her poems published. She is a kind girl who likes playing with everyone. She wants to put herself at the same level as others and likes making new friends. Some of her writing is in the Anthology out of South Africa.

Alter Mathebula was born in Petanenge, the third of four children. When she was in Grade 11 at Hudson Ntsan'wisi Senior Secondary School she was a friend of Jackey Mukhawana and he encouraged her to contribute her poems to the Anthology. Alter she says she is a complete girl and in a complicated relationship. Alter is a story teller, a playwright and a poet. Her book titled Alter’s Journey includes her writing in the Anthology.

This photo shows Lukas Groenewald, Editor of the Letaba Herald welcoming three of the contributors to "An Anthology out of South Africa" to his office and actually buying a copy of the book from each of them. Lucas very kindly permitted us to ship the books to his office. Then, he invited them, left to right, Jackey Mukhawana,Alter Mathebula, and Eustacia Nhlangweni, to the newspaper office, had them interviewed by a reporter and put this photo in the paper along with a very supportive article. Needless to say, the authors were delighted.

Mandisa Lulama Masuku, also known as Mandy was born in July 1999 and bred in Gauteng, Most of her family resides in Kwa-Zulu Natal. She is an aspiring Child Psychologist, although currently completing her teaching diploma at a college in Jo'burg. She says she will not give up until she is a qualified Child Psychologist because she believes that children were meant to be emotionally happy and healthy. She loves writing because it is a way of healing and happiness. Although some may find it boring she finds it powerful. Her first book is "Mbalenhle In A Foreign Land", a novel about a girl's first job after college.
